Several years ago, as a mortgage banker I ran across a book about self directed IRAs. Most of my clients were successful real estate investors accustomed to achieving returns of 20% or more from their properties. These same investors would complain to me about losing money in their 401ks and IRAs. This piqued my interest and I sensed an opportunity to be able to help them solve this perplexing conundrum.

In my quest to solve this problem, I ran across a lot of information that basically said it was possible to buy real estate and other private investments in retirement accounts. Everywhere I looked companies were teaching that it could be done, but when it came time to put the theories into practice, I was running across many problems that nobody seemed to have answers to.

As a mortgage banker accustomed to putting many pieces of a financial puzzle together, I spent several years flying all over the country, interviewing every self directed IRA expert I could find who would talk to me. I found most knew a lot about a little  but only a little about a lot. The really interesting thing that stood out to me is that nobody seemed to know a lot about a lot.

After logging thousands of miles criss-crossing the country and speaking with so many experts, I sat down and did what comes naturally to me as a mortgage banker -- integrate all the fragmented information I learned. To accomplish this, I began consulting individual investors to help them put more thought and diligence into their investment and retirement planning.

At the request of my consulting clients, I began offering a free weekly radio show which was broadcast over the internet. This show helped potential investors to create and update their investment portfolios using self directed retirement accounts to safely and effectively invest in real estate.

These radio broadcasts, as well as other informational outlets like newsletters, software and special reports are archived on the web and available to subscribers.

My goal is to help investors grow their retirement nest eggs using self-directed retirement account funds. The fact is, real estate remains the number one way to achieve wealth in the world and, using retirement vehicles like self directed IRA make it such a practical investment. This is because the gains to be made in real estate are enormous, particularly when invested over the long haul.
